Cold saw issue and question

I have this baleigh cold saw. I got this used. And theres a little slop in the plate the clamp section is on. Is that normal?... you can shakenit a bit.

Also my coolant is going everywhere, is there a better solution?... maybe bypass the nozzle and feed to moveable tubes like the nicer machining tools are? Once I open the valve a little it just blasts everywhere and on the floor, seems like a weird factory design.

if there is no adjustment and same on both sides i'd say designed that way. I got rid of an abrasive chop saw as it had a strange hold down.
I have a vertical band saw with a trough completely under the whole thing that dumps into an end collection thing. I too put in a new pump and coolant and mine still ended up all over the place. Havent used coolant since and i've had these blades for a few years. I do add cutting fluid sometimes as i'm cutting and it does help on thick pieces.

The piece is rigid once you tighten the clamp? If yes, then its just movement in the guides for the vise and likely not a issue beyond typical Baileigh build. BUT if you have any movement while the saw is cutting, like @Steve from Socal said, you will break blades or worse.

For the coolant, you dont need much for it to cool. Ideally a very slow drip on the blade is fine. Nothing like flooding in a cnc machine process.

If you want more coolant, pop that hose off and run a ball flex tube directly on the cut piece, it will still make a mess. Blade life vs mess.
