Cole vise and Drill!

Just got back from a auction with these heavy *** Cole vise and drill.

Any one care to give me some more info on this?

BTW got them both for $75

that looks like a blacksmith vise missing the drop leg, never saw a drill like that.

That's cool! Ive seen similar, but not that precise setup!

I just bought one myself and paid $85 and mine is missing the v shaped drill attachment and the mounting plate for the vise. Check out this site for more info.

I have a cole drill they are amazing. I got it from a tool dealer that didnt know what it was. He had it a long time and i was afrade to ask how much he wanted for it. One day i was asking about a chuck and he said take this thing and cut chuck of and throw rest away 10.00 dollars.

They're a few on here, search the archives. They were usually green though. The drill is a rare bird, the vises aren't terribly uncommon - I have one in my pile of vises to restore.

Here's another guy that has one. That drill will bore through 1" steel. It's a beast.

You can still get the drill and instructions on puting a motor on it. I have seen then advertised. In machinest mags.

That is cool. I don't think I'd want to be the one drilling through 1" steel with it though.
