Any one ever heard of University of Northwestern Ohio - UNOH ?
They offer automotive technician training. My kid is thinking of going there and just wonder if any one here knows anything about it.
Thank you

Yes, I managed a dealership across the street from UNOH. I have hired several graduates from the school and many have worked out well and are still with the company today. I believe a school is only as good as the student. If he is willing to learn and apply his knowledge he will do well. Best of luck to your son!

My son's friend who took over his dad's GM dealership graduated from there. My nephew graduated from there. In SE Indiana, it has a good reputation for teaching automotive tech's what they need to know. I know of several other area people who graduated from there also.

I graduated from there in 2001. Great school! But very little to do in the area. I did the diesel, high performance program with a associates degree. We had a good time even though the town completely blows. We always went to Toledo and Findly to hang out on weekends cause that's where all the lady's and party's were at. My only gripe is that I learned more on the job in 6 months than I did in the 3 years I went there. I came from a heavy background of working on things all through the years before I attended. I went there right out of high school. Techs are a dying breed in a way. I worked at Gm dealers for 13 years after school. Became fully ASE certified and 100% GM master tech in those years. Then I got a awesome job working for the worlds largest home appliance maker doing R&D work. Now I can enjoy automotive on the side and have fun doing it rather than beating my head daily to make a living. Thats my .02 cents.

I know of a few who have attended, one that is there now. All in the diesel program.

Another option might be Ferris State University in Michigan. again in the middle of nowhere, but good reputation for automotive and diesel programs.
