The OEM for Snap On was put out of business by the NYS DEC some time ago and it now appears that the supply has been exhausted. I'm not interested in the current aluminum constucted remover/installer set SO is offering.

Cal-Van offers item 95550, a similar design or copy, but only in kit form. TE Tools of Australia offers the same kit and individual pieces as well. TE did not respond to an inquiry about international shipping.

I simply want to buy a holder and a mix of metric and imperial collets, thus I am appealing to the collective wisdom of GJ. Are there any small importers in the US that sells such a thing? What about a retailer of TE Tools that will ship outside of Australia?

Snap on makes their own now of the cg500 and collects now. I had one that needed replaced about a year ago and had to wait because the oem was gone but the snap on made replacement was every bit as good when it finally showed.

If you're looking for collet pullers, for blind holes NOT threaded pieces, Snap on will sell you the Sir Tools kit. They also can order replacements if you break one.

Sir tools 9006 is the part number.

How do they work for exhaust hardware? Like tightening it on a stud, then heating the flange glowing orange, will it put up with that?

I have a few SIR tools and they are very well made but they were located in Paradise California and have not been able to get ahold of them since the fire so I think anything out there in stock is left over from before. It is sad but I don't know anymore than that. The original post was for the collet style threaded stud remover and installer not for dowl pin puller which is what the SIR tool is.
