Color Under FreeFlow

How well can you guys see the floor underneath your RaceDeck free flow flooring, and what’s the impact on the appearance? Is there any recommended ways to prep for free flow for the aesthetics? Anything to avoid so it doesn’t look bad?

Current floor is one of the Baer Home Depot kits in the light grey with the chips. It’s not in horrible shape, it’s just time to upgrade. Just happened to think about how much it’ll show through and what will look best.

It’s hardly noticeable. I had my garage floor epoxy coated by a proffesional installer using Legacy Industrial epoxy and it started to peel after a year from my vehicles tires. I made the decision to buy Race Deck and haven’t looked back.

As far as prep, I’d simply vacuum and mop the floor then lay down your RD. Don’t waste your money on upgrading the coating as you can hardly see.

here are some quick, unedited photos I took after reading this post from inside part of our showroom. If you look for it, you will see the concrete. I never notice the concrete or dirt etc.

I used landscape fabric here. Normally I would not. Still cleans really well, but chalky grime would be easier to clean off the concrete.

I'll echo the others that what you see or notice beneath the FreeFlow triles is negligible. I mean, if you want to shine a spotlight on the tiles and try to look at the concrete beneath, maybe you will notice the surface. Why not grab a few sample tiles from RaceDeck and put them down and see how you feel.

Sweep it, hose it out and lay the Free Flow. The concrete is almost invisible. Some kind of coating is a waste of time and money in my opinion. After 4+ years I have no regrets. Good luck. CJDave.

Another one to chime in and say don't worry about it. You really don't see anything through it and I'm thankful for that. The U-Coat it looked really bad. Still very happy with Racedeck!
