Hey guys! I'm new here and just finished up my new shop with colored concrete. I put down 2 coats of concrete sealer. I'm wondering if there is an easy wax to go over the sealer to protect it even further.

Very nice.......I like your choice of color. I personally think in pre-planning, that this is the only cost effective way to go. Enjoy. Just think of all that extra time that you will have working on your cars and not redoing the floors every so often.....Any more shots of your building?

Nice floor. If it where my shop. I would grind off what ever sealer (I'm guessing an acrylic sealer) and put down 2 coats of Polyaspartic. You'd have a ton less maintanance in the years to come. Wax will eventually need to be srtipped and rewaxed. Big pain in the ***. For interiors its fine but for a working shop or a shpwroom type shop like yours, at the very least 2 coats of epoxy, 2 coats of epoxy wth aliphatic urethane sealer or 2 coats of Polyaspartic.

Can you tell us more about the colored concrete? What was the color called? Is this a dry shake -- when was the color added to the floor? Very nice!

The color is called Sand and was supplied by Davis Concrete Colors. It's a dry mix that comes in a bag and was added at the concrete mixing plant. Most concrete plants will help you with the colors and are well experienced at supplying and mixing the product. You have to be carefull especially if your doing a multiple pour with more than one truck. The concrete contractor went to the plant in my case and did the mix to make sure the ratio was correct in each batch so the color was a match in every truck load. They just throw the pouch and bag in the load and mix it well before the pour. Davis has a full color chart on their web site to pick from. The nice thing about the colored concrete is it's consistency. You can chip the concrete and because it's the same color all the way through the damage is hard to notice. If it turns out you you don't like it you can always cover the floor with another method like Epoxy. It costs me about $400 for the 2400 sq feet.
