Just wondering if anyone has a really colorful garage...as in, bright orange cabinets and funky/colorful artwork on the walls. Wondering if that will look great or will it look tacky....

An acquaintance near by has painted his Chicago Bear blue with orange trim. Too dark for me (plus I'm a Packer fan.)

Mine's green, yellow and beige. I'm in the ballpark of the Packers colors, I guess. But that wasn't the intention.

Jack, thanks for posting. I really like your garage. I wanna do tiles in mine too but I'm fearful they'll crack from jack stands...

in the 2 car garage thread, there's a guy with a lotus that painted his garage yellow and red. might be what you're looking for.

If more people with colored or extensively art worked spaces, realised the cost in power to bring the ambient lighting back up to the level it would be with an all white space, I'm sure fewer of them would do it.

However there are cases - like Jack Olsens garage above - where the aesthetics and easy on the eye ambience of the place is worth every exta cent of electricity!

Thanks. I made sure the ceiling stayed white, since that's where most of the lights are pointed.

Names escape me this early in the morning, but the guy with the Harly's has his painted orange (I want to say Gunslinger) I think all in all there are about 4 in here that are orange. One is orange with a black ceiling which actually looks pretty sharp. Probably the best thing to do would be make a folder on the computer desktop, then start going through the "Gallery" and right click and save any pics to that folder. That way you will have them saved for future reference. But I might warn you....when you do that, you will change your mind 50 times minimum as to what direction you want to go. Waaayyyy many pics with waaayyyy many ideas. :lol_hitti I've been saving pics for quite a while now and am still more confused than ever :headscrat

Exactly. Think of it like deciding to make your own clothes. It's better to copy what you've seen somewhere else (and liked) than to just jump in with some colors that look good on a 2x2 piece of cardstock or your favorite race car, hoping that those colors will also make for a working space that won't be too clowny.

Paint was the one thing I let my wife get involved in with my garage, and I'm glad I did that.

Jack, I love your garage and I love your car. Just curious though - is that your only car?
Thanks. It's not my only car, but it's the only one that gets to stay in the garage.

My wife's Prius and my Jaguar and Jeep all get to sit out in the driveway or the street.

Life's full of tough choices. :)

Well when I had my garage sheet rocked at my new (to me) house I knew I needed some color after seeing the place in primer. I wanted a color that would stand out but not make the garage look smaller. I settled on neon yellow with a white contrast. I also will bring red and blue into the color mix with red cabinets and a blue Bridgeport and cabinets in my machining corner. Once I get my lift I’ll do a full post on the buildup.
