I've never heard of a "Professional" series and they don't show up in Wilton's catalog, but I bought one yesterday. Anybody know what the difference is that makes it a "Professional"?

Picture along with a comparison to the import Wilton it's replacing.

I think they want you to think it standard of workmanship is maybe above most other MFG's. I don't think its any better made then the red one, only bigger. Columbian HD series are the 604-606 swivels and the 504-506 non swivels. This is a good site for Columbian vises and parts.

It's US made. It's cast both into the dynamic jaw (visible in the picture below the "6") and in the body on the other side.

Just from moving the dynamic jaw in and out, it becomes obvious that it's better than the import Wilton. Even if it weren't, it's much bigger though not easily seen from the angle of the picture.

I found this one for $75. New range appears to be $307-455

What should I look for that could be in need of repair? Good price?
