Columbian replacement washer

Hey,
I have a 5041/2 Columbian Machinist vise. The (thrust?) washer that goes between the body of the dynamic jaw and the spindle has seen far, far better days. There's a flange of some sort around the lower circumference of the washer. At one time, it looks as though the flange would seat up against the body of the dynamic jaw and the raised section of the vise jaw would lock the washer in place as the jaw closed. The washer is so badly bent that it no longer automatically seats itself... which makes for a lot of double checking. I've looked all over and can find no mention of this type of washer. The replacement parts sites seem only to offer an ordinary "smooth" washer. I don't know if this is something the guy who owned the vise before me made or this is a part special to the Columbian machinist vises. Anyway, I've included some pictures and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

rusty65,
Well that's comforting to know. Is there a special reason to use a brass washer? Maybe soft enough not to wear out the vise? I appreciate the input.

If you wanted to be really trick, you could use the replacement thrust roller bearing from a Kawasaki KZ1000.... Like this...just the flat parts, not the main piece...

In the big vise thread, somewhere there are some scans of catalog pages. I think I remember in the Columbian description, that they use a self lubricating washer or something like that. On my 504, the washer has little diamond like pattern on one side, which I would assume is a porous surface to absorb oil, or possibly graphite. I will try to post a picture of mine if I can, seems to always come out too big...

Greetings!!
Columbian is the only manufacturer that uses a graphite impregnated brass thrust washer on a lot of its vises. You can buy them through Columbian itself. They are pretty nifty, work well and not very pricey (if I remember). Just Google Columbian vise parts and go from there.
