Columbian vise experts...an old one

I thought that the really old Colombians had the arched lettering on both sides...then around WWII era one side was switched to flat script like this one is?

But if that's the case I thought the single screw lockdown vises like this one went out of fashion immediately after WWI ?

Never seen one with flat script on one side and a single lockdown screw like this...

82: the Columbian is a little rounded and not straight that is cast onto the side of that old vise. i'd say with the bolt through bench swivel that the columbian in the ad is early 1900's most likely. i'm not a Columbian expert but i own a few.

that combo vise is very similar to my Reed 31 so here's a few pictures of mine and the catalog page. also since your CL link with pictures will expire in a week or when it sells are you able to save those pictures and post them on this thread so everybody will know what we are talking about?

The 200 series is not dated on the Dayid site, so I can't help on the date. It appears (IMO) that the original base is missing and the base shown in the picture is from another vise - it resembles the base of my old Rock Island vise. The 200 series vises have lock-downs on the top of the base, which this does not.
