I got an offer for both of these vises for $130. Good deal or pass?

I’m not really worried about the paint job. I’m gonna fully restore them and paint them to my liking anyway. Thanks for letting me know the prices in your area.

That’s a decent deal as long as there are no hidden repairs under that ugly paint.
If you don’t need 2 vises, fix up both of them and see which one you like using the most and then sell off the other one. You should get most if not all of your original $130 back. That leaves you with a free vise.

Duly noted. I’ll make sure to go over them with a fine tooth comb for damage or prior repairs.

That’s always a good idea
Another thing I do many times is to crank the dynamic jaw all the way out to separate the vise into 2 pieces. That way you can check for possible binding through the entire range of operation. You can also look inside at the main nut and general grease or lack of grease. And last but not least for bigger vises, you can lift just half of it into your car or truck at one time.
