Good afternoon,
Has anyone used the combustion air inlet kits? They are supposed to increase efficiency by upto 10%. But the cost is about $225 plus it requires the use of Class III stainless steel venting.

Ive always just used a metal dryer vent with flapper removed and a couple of 4" single wall 90s to bring in extra combustion air when needed in unfinished basements.
If its in a finished area you could always extend it to the utilitie area before trapping it.
Ive never had the gas co complain about it.;)

You could look at a Tjernlund Enforcer. It ties into the burner control and only operates on a call for heat. As well, it doesn't draw straight outdoor air which can be very cold. It mixes cold with indoor air to provide a blended temperature. It has a built in damper to prenatal cold air spillage.
