Comfort Zone CZ230 ER Error Code E1

I'll preface by stating I know absolutely nothing about this other than we ordered it and had an electrician install it. It's flashing an error code E1. I have a call in to the electrician that installed it but in the meantime I'm trying to find anything I can about it.

E1 is a communication error. Check the 4 wires that go between modules for a loose or broken connection. You should also measure 12 volts DC between V+ and VG and 3.3 volts DC between RS+ and RS-.
