Red Wings. Avoid any shoe that has a glued molded sole though because it all comes apart long before the boot is worn out. I couldn't float the $300 this last time and opted for a $120 pair of Rockies (ignoring my own advice they have the molded soles) and when I'm wearing them at work, most of the time I wear boot rubbers over them to help save 'em from the worst. Decent boots so far but nowhere near as good as the RW's for comfort.

Redwing boots ****; poor quality. They're trying to live on their legacy while selling a poor quality boot. Last 2 pairs I had did not last 12 months.

Started wearing Redback boots. Feet are in boot heaven.

Redback boots been wearing them for the past 16 years. I am a diesel mechanic working on concrete floors all day. A pair usually lasts me more than 2 years. I even bought a non steel toe pair to wear in my off hours.

Georgia boots are the best I have had on my feet to date. I would rather wear my Georgia boots than sneakers!!

First week I used them, the sole fell apart in chunks until it was all gone! Wolverine is supposed to be a decent brand. I will never buy one of those again.

i had that same problem, i bought three pair on a very good sale and by the time i got to them the soles fell off in hunks, academy sport and wolverine just " can't help you"

so I stop buying boot at academy and never will own another pair of wolverines

i got justins, timberland and redwings now

Because I was in the merchant marine had had no way of getting new shoes, I always took 2 pairs, one I worked in and another I didn't unless I needed to.
I tried several brands throught the years but finally decided that Wolverine was always best for me. Some shoes were too slippery in the engine room with oil on steel and working on the main engine. Because of the oil, about 2 years was the best I would hope for before I'd start thinking about working in that second pair. the first pair would come home to be lawnmowing boots.

Buy the best you can afford. If the boots cost $200 they last for a couple of years. Remember that your work boots are a tax deductible expense !

Dansko for 10 years. Best pair of shoes I have ever owned. My sister in law is a Vet and has worn Dansko for 20 years.

Redwing 2233, 8" lace up tops. I was an assistant manager at Lowe's for 2.5yrs and I tried all sorts of shoes-I wear size 13E and the 2233's held up and provided the most comfort. Brooks and New Balance Tennis Shoes, Wolverine Durashocks, even other redwing boots did not compare. My knees, back, ankles and feet never hurt when I wore the 2233 boots. The lace up tops give plenty of ankle support, my feet didn't sweat in them like other shoes-and they lasted for 4-5 years(actually still have them-but pretty rough cosmetically). After I left Lowe's I went back to the oilfield-they have held up well for the past 2.5 years of this job. I'm buying another pair this week so I can wear them on office visits-and look nice. They are dark brown-but can be heavily oiled and kept really dark in color.
