They do finally appear in the online catalog, but with no price and a "Not Available Online" disclaimer. Even Mac's marketing team seems unsure of the current status.

Maybe a ship went down crossing the pacific. :lol_hitti

My understanding is that these ratchets are a dual pawl variation of the mechanism currently used in the Proto XL series rats and are USA made.

Mac has put out some stellar products over the last year and seems to be trying to turn things around.

I asked my mac tool guy and he had no idea they were cing out with fine tooth ratchets. I was looking for a small 1/4 size handle with 3/8" drive, but ended up buying a snap on

I called MAC customer service around the third week of September when they redid their web site. I tried to order the ratchets over the phone. They weren't available. I asked if they could get me a release date. They emailed me back later that day saying that a release date was undetermined. :wtf:

To me that means they're having problems with the final design or retooling to make them. :dunno:

I would still like to get a couple though. Are you listening MAC?

Talked to a VP at Mac today and this is the scoop:

"We are working hard towards launch of this new product line. As you can imagine there is a great deal that goes into producing a whole new ratchet line, including the commercial launch. Right now we are busy producing the 3/8" line building inventory to support the launch of the ratchets. We have some targeted dates but do not want to share those with anyone. This is an important project for Mac Tools and we are very excited to release a tremendous product".

When they are released, I can assure you I will have one dissected and posted up ASAP

They better be something amazing as they are kinda late to the show (pun intended). With how long the Dual 80's and Matco/Armstrong 88's have been out, they might have a hard time converting people. Not to mention, all of the Taiwan offerings from Carlyle, HF, GearWrench, etc.

How hard can it be to produce a ninety tooth ratchet and bring it to market?:dunno: I mean Carlyle has a few. :wtf:

I think MAC is having design issues.

Still no word as of yet from my mac guy. I really, really want a few. Can we order online to get around the wait? My mac guy is arguing and saying they dont exist because he's never heard anything about them. What the heck?

Tell your MAC guy to look in the 2014 catalog; they're in there.

LOL, That's right...I know as mentioned up above, my MAC Guy was supposed to have em by June 2014....obviously that didn't happen.

MAC Tool show is going on this week in Indy I believe.

Just got home from the Mac Tool Event in Indianapolis and I have the low down.

1. The ratchets are indeed made in Dallas by Mac and are not a rebrand.

2. Mac is now taking orders for the 3/8" models which apparently make up like 80% of Mac's ratchet sales. They will be on the trucks for consumer purchase the first of June.

3. They're very nice ratchets and the handles are great. Better than they look to be in the pics.

4. They would not let me disassemble their display models, but I have been assured I will have one to dissect just before they hit they trucks. It does have a Proto premium feel about it, but with twice the teeth.

I'll have a full write up of this and all the new releases for 2015 in the coming days, but I think it will be a big year for Mac.

Much of the Mac stuff comes from the Stanley Proto Blackhawk conglomerate; which I happen to be in a huge urination competition with at this very moment. Yeah. ******* match.
Scum of the earth.
Personally.... I'm jumping in the sack with Armstrong(again) At least they're honest.
Well. Apex makes sure of that.

Ive been told they are the same as the dual paw old proto with 45 teeth on the drive gear but since they are dual paw they call them 90 tooth. Kinda like the gearwrench 120 dual paws

Looking forward to reading it. Pictures would be nice. Hopefully, some of the items may see life under the PROTO banner too. MAC needs to come out with some new quality tools to energize the brand.
Thanks for the update,

As much I like classic Mac 30 tooth, I really do, I hope the new ratchets shows noticeable streght increase as the 30 tooth's are ungodly weak ratchets.
