I finally finished my 35x24 3-car garage. Above the center bay i have a reverse valley while the two outer bays have a 9' 6" ceiling height (with small loft above).

In the picture attached i temporarily placed a 1'x4' T8 (2-4' lights) to see the light output. There are two things I am concerned about; one being the light output/coverage when the doors are open vs. closed, and two, being the lighting in the valley.

In the picture below, the width of the ceiling where the light is is around 12' and 24' deep with a 9'6" ceiling height. I was thinking 2 rows of these lights with 4 fixtures per row (want it like an operating room). I would then segment the 2 lights closest to the doors (4 lights in total if you could the 2 rows) to be on a separate switch (to be controlled when the doors are closed).

Thoughts? Any other lights i could be considering? I liked the 1x4's as they sit nicely flushed in the ceiling. My only issue is what type of fixtures to put in the valley itself......

How about throwing out a couple of plan views of your lighting schemes? Also, a picture or two from the outside might help; I'm not familiar with the term 'reverse valley'.

Its been a while since my original post, but I finally got the lighting the way I wanted it..

Shot from the front showing my long awaited doors finally installed (don't mind the wifes car....thats as close as it will ever get to the garage anyway ;)):

This is how I mounted each of the fixtures evenly between the engineer joists (once I made a template for the height and spacing it went pretty smooth):

Directly under. The left side wall will have a L-shaped custom counter built and extend about 5 ft along the far back wall.

I love the look on the outside.

What type of shingles are those? Actual cedar shingles or a plank type siding with shingles formed on it?

Manufacturer?
