I am looking to buy some extra metric imact sockets larger than 19mm. What are the most common used metric sizes above 19mm? I will need to buy individual sockets so I don't want to buy sizes that don't get much or any use. I don't think I will need any over 35mm or 36mm or do I ?
Thanks

If you focus on any/all makes, I suppose you could run into just about any of those sizes. I do Subaru's mainly, the only ones above 19mm I've needed so far are 22mm for crank pulley bolts and 32mm for axle nuts. Some newer axle nuts are 36mm.

Dodge and TOyota use a lot of 24mm stuff on the suspension. 22 is another. Porsche uses a 30mm axle nut, Honda and Subaru use a 32mm. I have a 36 and haven't used it much. You can usually get by with those listed above and then get a set of standard sockets to fill in the gaps. BTW I use a 54 on Toyota 4x4s.

I sell mostly 30 32 34 36mm so I guess thats what guys use the most. 30 is the same as 1-3/16" which is a hard one to find too. 1-1/2 is very popular too.

Depends on the Honda. The 92-96 Prelude, for example, uses a 32 AND a 36 for axle nuts, depending on which end of the car you're working on. If you do a lot of Hondas, I'd want both just to be sure.

If you're changing oil on a VW (and a lot of other German cars), you'll need a 36 anyway.

Volvo 22 or 24 for crank pulleys, 32 for halfshafts, 22 or 25 for oil drain plugs, 24 for the strut nuts.
BMW 36 for the oil filter cap, 32 (v. deep socket) for VANOS and (thin) wrench for the mechanical fan pulley, 21 or 22 for the strut nuts.
Toyota 21mm for the lug nuts.

I need 2 46mm sockets for brackets on my Mercedes, and a smothering of different wrenches/sockets in the 20s & 30s...
