Has anyone heard any details about the Compac 2T-77 floor jack recall? I purchased one earlier this year through Automotive Service Equipment (asedeals.com). A couple weeks ago, I was contacted directly by the international sales manager for the Compac parent company, ESCO. He sent me a document that indicates a "materials defect" in a small number of these jacks and a form to sign, indicating my agreement to destroy/decommission the old unit. In exchange, they sent out a brand new one, free of charge.

This may only affect the 2T-77 G1 model. My replacement jack is a 2T-77 G2. I was just wondering how many units this affected, and exactly what the failure was. Do any Compac owners have more information?

I haven't heard any details, but today I received a voice message at home from ESCO regarding the Compac 2T-77 jack I purchased in July 2015. Unfortunately, they were closed by the time I got the message, but the voicemail did say that they would be replacing my jack at no charge to me. I plan to call tomorrow morning to get more information.
