Currently working on restoring an old Companion Drill Press that I recently acquired. I've got everything disassembled except for one thing.
After removing the spindle/quill assembly I'm left with only this pressed in bushing/bearing on top of the head. I've attached a photo below.
Can this just be pressed down from the top of the head so that it drops free from the bottom? My brain is telling me put it in the press with a socket around the top and push down, or is there another way this should be approached? First time restoring one of these old DP's and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
