An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I havea bunch (14) of older Compothane hammers (original Stanley) that I bought from my Matco dealer (long gone) back in 1982 along with Matco branded Compothane dead blow hammers that are turning white and cracking.
Now I know I can have Matco warranty the Matco branded ones, but will Matco warranty the Stanley brand hammers? They sold them before they started having them branded with their name on them. Anyone else run into this issue?

I got four new from SO in the mid-80's and they are Blue-Point. All four are turning white and cracking apart, even though they were used little. The SO man now says he can't do anything about it; the Blue-Point warranty was only good for one year. The man I bought from retired and died.

I'm no help in regards to claiming warranty, but I just wanted to say that my Compothane hammer completely shattered upon impact. I bought it used and never would've thought it would shatter upon first impact...and I wasn't wearing any eye protection. Scared the **** outta me.

I gave a stanley compathan hammer to the mac guy a few years back and got a mac in exchange, guess you could send back to the factory also for exchange. It had blowed apart like yours.

If anyone's interested, here's the bare-naked Compothane :D

These shot-filled dead-blows are weak, imo.

....On the other end of the spectrum, the PB Swiss, washer-filled heads are just awesome.
