Complete tube flaring kit?

I was at NAPA a while back, and they had a complete tubing kit, including a tubing bender and all the flaring tools for work with hard line. I think it was around $80.

I was wondering, what else is out there that is a comprehensive kit to work with tubing? I don't need something in the several hundred dollar range, just something to occasionally do a brake line or maybe redo my transmission cooler installation with more hardline and less rubber.

All I can recommend is the mastercool hydraulic set. Its the most complete bang for the buck set out there. Comes in just north of $200 online. However it will do metric bubble, standard and double flare, push connect and fuel lines. There is also an additional die set that does AN style 37* flares.

If you are looking for a complete set its hard to beat.

If you are just looking to do a double flare 3/16 brake line once, just rent the cheap tool from the parts store and save your dollars

The MasterCool hyd.tubing flairing kit is the deal, period. As far as bending if you buy the Nickle Copper tubing it bends with your fingers.

OK, I will look into the Mastercool kit. I don't know if I want to spend that much, but it sounds good from description.

I don't forsee using the kit a lot, just a few projects here and there. Not just brake lines, though.

Will it work on stainless steel just as good? My Scout II needs new lines, so I wish to convert system to Hydra-Boost and disc all 4. What is your thoughts?

For doing single and double flares up to 1/2" occasionally, buy the Ridgid 345. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THAT OTHER ****!!!!!

Nothing but the Mastercool will beat that kit, and if you are not doing a lot the Ridgid cannot be beat. The Mastercool is sweet though.....I may upgrade to that someday.

Do the single/double flaring kits make quality single flares or is it best to stick with two sets? I'm always suspicion when a kit claims it can do everything, but I have not tried it myself.
