Found the socket box about a year ago IIRC. Had about 6 pieces already, thought about maybe trying to complete the set with the correct era parts. Figured it couldn't hurt to have a back-up set for my 1980 set. Not having problems with that 41 year old bunch of tools but it pays to be prepared. Then heard S-K had been sold and started the effort in earnest.
Here she is, all complete. SAE shallow and deeps, (a few pieces are not era-correct) with some added pieces I wanted. The stock 3"extension gets supplemented by a 1 1/2" and 6" extensions. Added a 1/4" rat with 3/8" head, and a 3/8" to 1/4" adaptor so I can use 1/4" drive sockets. These added parts made fitment a challenge, so, I use the two 3/4" sockets for storage of the shorty items. That allows everything else to fit in the ratchet chamber and the cover fully closes.
Total investment: $65 Considering the new similar set is listed at $176 I think I did OK.

Great kit! That’s the beauty of Old SK sets. They last, work great, excellent quality, and fun to build. Those are my favorite to find and collect. Also love the heat shrink tubing—especially if something is beat up or if you need a little grip.

I bought that same set new in 66. Still have all but one of the sockets. Eventually I cut the ratchet down for use as a shorty. I still hate it and don't use it. The sockets on the other hand are the set I use. The missing one is somewhere on the garage floor. I know exactly where and when I dropped it, but have never been able to find it even after several years.

So yours would be an SK Wayne set, seber? What socket are you missing? I'll keep an eye open for an appropriate socket while I'm working on filling out my metric set.
