Has anyone ever used composit decking for flooring in their garage? It is so expensive, but I thought if you took it and put it in a band saw you could slice it down the middle then glue it down to the cement floor. Anyone ever tried this? Thanks.............j willis

It really isn't designed for a garage application. I'd be concerned that it would introduce more problems than it solves - gaps, water drainage getting under them... Also, many of them have a wood grain that would tend to attract garage dirt and grease that would be difficult to keep clean.
If you have a slab condition that needs to have something on top of it instead of a finish coat to it, there are other options available.

I have it on a deck, it wasn't suppose to mildew but It did. There's a class action law suite over it.

I have two decks on the front and back of the house that are composite... one 12'X50' and another 15'X12'. A third will be added next year. I like the stuff on a deck, but I wouldn't advise using it on a garage floor. I live in high desert so I don't have the mold problem, but I did notice it is discolored by oils. If someone drops a piece of meat, etc., it will stain the composite surface. It does come out with time and some cleanser.
There's no way I'd install it on the garage floor. I'd spill oil, transmission fluid other assorted chemicals. That would be bad enough... but then dirt would fill up the cracks and be a pest. Don't even get me started on the possibility of it denting when you drop a tool, drag a piece of lumber or metal over it. I find it mars when treated roughly. I don't part my chained up lawn tractor on the deck... I'd like to, it's no fun hand shoveling 4' of snow off the deck. Even my tracked snow blower's pads could mar the surface.

Thanks for the advice. I had thought about the cracks but I thought if I sliced it in half with a band saw and butted each piece up to the next one with the sawn side up and glued it down with construction cement, there wouldn't be any seams and it might be OK. But maybe it isn't such a good idea. It is plastic and I see people putting down plastic tiles, so I didn't see much difference. Don't the plastic tiles that are on the market stain, dent and get mold under them?

I used it on a kids play structure but there are definitely some disadvantages of it. It would certainly stain and wouldn't be the easiest thing to clean. You'd have the threshold to deal with. If you re-sawed it you'd probably have some with and without the grain. Also some manufacturers groove the bottom. The advantages of the material are primarily outdoor related. It is a soft material so durability would be an issue. I think even resawn your price per square foot would be about $3-4 with adhesives. For that price VCT, tile, epoxy and racdeck stuff become options.
