Take a Craftsman socket and snap it onto a Craftsman extension.
Take a Snap-on socket and snap it onto a Snap-on extension.
That's all you have to do to for a comparison to see what I mean.
OK - I tried what you said just to make sure there was not some difference that I did not notice before. here is what I observed. -
My 1980s vintage craftsman sockets fit the same on both my Craftsman and Snap-on extensions. My 1980s vintage Snap-on sockets fit the same on both the Craftsman and Snap-on extensions. My newer Craftsman sockets with indentations for the socket holding ball fit better than either of the 1980s Craftsman and Snap-on sockets. It did not matter which brand extension for those either, they fit the same on both. I do not have any recent Snap-on sockets to try.
My Snap-on wobble extensions did have more degrees of offset than my made in Taiwan wobble extensions. I do not have the Craftsman wobble extensions to compare.
I did have a problem once with a 1/4" Craftsman locking extension not holding the socket tightly years ago and took it back. All of the others in the store at the time had the same problem. The 3/8" ones were fine. Other than that the only problems I have had with extensions has been some no-name import ones bending and a few even shearing in two. But even the cheap Stanley,PM, Benchtop, and Master Mechanic brand ones in my junkyard and truck boxes have been just fine.
To the O.P.: If you don't have any wobble extensions, I suggest you get at least one in 3/8" and 1/4" drive.
