Does this apply to pex-al-pex, or just regular ol' "plastic" pex?
just the plastic stuff. PEX A or B as I think of it.

The PAP piping with the aluminum liner is a totally different beast specifically designed for compressed air, so I don't think anyone considering trying to "get away" with PEX is referring to specifically engineered air piping. It's more along the lines of trying to "get away" with PVC or such.

I was referring to the OP “ pex -al- pex “ he referenced, although, I didn’t type that out & should have done a better job w/ my response

Instead of adding extra accumulator tanks - up size the main line to 1 inch.

I’d hate to have a inmate run w/ a material that’s not rated.



I like copper pipe for air lines but it’s expensive buy in !
With copper these days, it's really tough to beat black pipe, especially when you add up the death-by-1000-cuts of the many small fittings. It's not the piping itself that gets you so much as the adapters, unions, couplings, bushings, tees, elbows blah blah blah.
