Mitch and I have been struggling with a lack of sufficient compressed air, especially for sandblasting. Today, we solved that problem when we purchased three compressors out of a powerhouse. These were used for pumping up the air starting reservoirs to start four enormous 16 cylinder stationary Diesels.
Here are a few specs on the new units:
Model: Quincy QR-25 5120
Pressure: up to 250 PSI
Volume: 95 CFM at 175 PSI
Weight: 1,600 lbs each
Power: 25HP
Here's a photo of them:
And a video when we test-ran one of the units:
Now I need to buy the biggest sandblasting gun TP Tools sells. The compressor should cycle nicely while running it. The new Quincy will be able to pump up my current 60-gallon air receiver in about 50 seconds.
I'll be keeping my 3HP IR SS3L for light-duty tasks. Not sure what Mitch has planned for his yet, but I have a feeling it will be interesting!
What can I say? We like big iron! We'll be selling the third unit shortly if anyone is interested.
