Hey everyone,
I recently put this compression sleeve puller through the paces.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ITPIDKC/?tag=atomicindus08-20
I replaced three shutoff valves in a bathroom that had a leak. Couldn't be happier with the tool. It removed all three compression rings with no problems. I reinstalled compression fittings on all three pipes after nothing more than a light sanding and all went on with no leaks. I bought the tool last fall for about $35. Price is higher on amazon now, but it looks like they have no stock.
Pretty pricey for a tool with one job, but given that I replaced all three valves for about $50 including the tool (and I have the tool to replace other valves when necessary) it was clearly way cheaper than having a plumber do it.
Can't recommend this tool enough for the specific job it covers. I'll probably replace all the shut off valves eventually. Currently they are all the screw type ones and they are clearly pretty old. While most of them work, they all still allow a very slow drip when shut off. I put on new 1/4 valves - no such problem now.
Anyhow, just thought I would share my experience with the tool.
