Compression Tester Recomendation

Can someone recommend a good DIY compression tester? I have a 2 cylinder Kawasaki tractor engine I need to rebuild and want to do a compression test before I tear into it. I don't need a top of the line set but something that will not fall apart the first time I use it would be nice. Something I could use on my BMWs would be a plus.

Any of the truck brands can be bought used in nice condition off ebay or Craigslist for around $50

Make sure it has a bleed off valve so you can zero it between strokes if you want to.
