I had a few cheapy air filters, etc hooked up before we moved. But since I am redoing everything and I want to do an install once. So I think I'll just put the **** stuff on the shelf and start over.

I do have a Snap-on BF520A air filter that I would like to use. The garage will be used for lots of general air tool use, but I will be doing some automotive painting and such.

If I can get away with it, I'd rather not have two different drops, one for general use and one for paint use, but looking for advice and if I can build on my Snap-on filter.

You will also need a regulator. Put in extra drops. It's much easier to do it now instead of regretting it later. If you're going to paint and you have the budget get yourself a dryer.

There is a Binks regulator on there, but the part number is a Snap-on BF520A, but it looks more like the BF521A pictured below.

I've just been wondering if this would do fine, or if I should ditch this at some point and then move to something like a Devilbiss QC3 filter/dryer.:headscrat

Or do I just use the Snap-on filter/regulator followed by a coalescing filter from TP Tools, such as this?

TP 3405-60

I do some painting. The biggest thing isn't the filter that you use, it's all in the piping. I have about 30' of piping set up from compressor going to the back wall. It enters a cheap HF filter, tees off from there, 1 to my regular hose, then 1 to another filter for my paint hose. I have alot of rises and drops for the paint side before it enters another cheap craftsman filter then regulator. No water at all.
