I have an old 2-stage Wayne compressor. It's a great unit, but it never had the paper filter (think mini "circle" filter like on old cars) since I bought it. I can't seem to find a replacement so I was just going to buy a whole new unit. All I can find are in-line ones or the small metal one from northern tools (that I really don't trust either). Any help finding where I can pick up a new filter unit so my pump doesn't **** all the dust into it?

Going to sound silly but,,,,,,,,,,,look at the oil filter for an 1100 VStar motorcycle. I use them on my bike and the first think I think of any time I need to protect some thing out of the ordinary. Not much bigger than the origional.

Is that a 4" diameter filter? If it is that is the size that was on my compressor and I found a 4" replacement filter for those Cal Custom air cleaners at the parts store.

Try the air filter for the small Honda engines that are on the pumps used in agricultural applications the Fleetguard number is five digits in length and starts with AF 254??. I'll fill in the ? marks with the other numbers Monday when I get back to work if I can remember to look it up for you?

When I got my (used) compressor it didn't have a filter either. I got one for a larger lawn tractor, fabbed a mounting bracket/base, and its worked very well ever since. The compressor I have has two ports (right next to each other) with outside bolts. I made a base from a piece of fiberglass board I had (1/8" thick, IIRC) and drilled the top of the filter to match the existing holes in the compressor (and covered the hole that was pre-drilled in the filter with something...)
