Just taking a shot, due to the number and diversity of forum members. I'm in the market for a new compressor. Prefer American made, 5 horse, 80 gallon, two stage, single phase. Anyone sell or have a connection for good pricing on compressors that would fit my needs ?? Looking at an Ingersoll-Rand 2340N5 for around $1300. Worth a shot.

Northern Tool's price for the 2340N5-V is $1399.99. Free shipping.

Same price for the Quincy 2V41C60VC (also with free shipping), which is 60-gallon but would get my vote over the IR at that price. The Quincy has a US-made Baldor motor and 50,000 hour pump life.

I was torn when looking for a similar compressor. Found the Industrial brands version of the kobalt 80 gallon 1248 compressor for 999 plus shipping. After reading tons on here I decided to go with the quincy 451cp80vcb for 1849 minus 15%, off locally. What swayed me was the quoted db level of 74 by quincy. I metered my power mate 27 gallon and it was 99db. Great support of quincy on this die also swayed me.

Hadn't even thought about noise level. That's a big difference between those two. Damn, one more thing to factor in.
