Compressor Drain

Has anybody made some sort of drain extension or catch for their large, fixed location compressor. I have a little butter cup I put under there. The comprssor currently sits next to an outside wall. I would like to have something that catches the condensate water with a tube that goes outside or something like that. Mostly looking for ideas.

If cost is an issue, you should be able to shut down your compressor, drain all the air, and remove the petcock from the bottom. Take this with you to the hardware store and pick out the necessary fittings to install a 90, a straight piece of tubing (long enough to relocate the petcock where you can reach it) and a union to attach your existing petcock to the tubing. Should be under $10. If you have a better budget to work with, McMaster Carr has a pretty good selection of timer drains in the neighborhood of $100. Set the "open frequency", the number of seconds the valve opens, and forget it. The timer drain now takes care of everything for you. They also will come in handy on the end of a downward sloping air line, to remove the moisture:

Replace the petcock with a ball valve with a hose barb on the output side.
Then you can have a piece of tube long enough to go out the door and just coil it up under the tank.

Could just use some flexible tubing off the valve with fittings etc then connect to say a piece of pipe or copper tubing that goes through the wall. Maybe a bracket to hold the pipe and caulk on the outside siding and it shouldn't go anywhere.
