I got an amazing deal on an atlas capco gx2ff compressor.

However it is 575 3 phase and I would like to hook it up in my garage at home. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

575v?? never heard of that.

If its 3 phase you either need a phase converter or you have to replace the motor with a single phase motor.

What does the data plate on the motor say? as in horsepower, voltage, and amps?

Pics would be nice!

Sounds like an industrial rotary screw compressor. 3hp isn't much and would probably give you 8-10cfm. New ones sell in the neighborhood of $5K. If you're just working on cars at home you might be better off flipping it and buying a new single phase, 2-stage, 7.5hp, 80gal Quincy, IR or another name brand comp.

Are u in Canada? I think motors rated for 575v is for canadian 3-phase 600y/347 electrical systems. What voltage electrical service do u have at your house? You probably have single phase at a lower voltage. In order to use this conpressor you would not only need a transformer to step up the voltage but you will also need a phase converter such as an RPC or maybe a VFD if there is one that operates on 600v systems. IMO, its gonna cost more to buy the equipment to run this compressor than it would be to buy a single phase unit.

Yes I am in Canada. It looks like moving it for a single phase may be the best option. Thanks for the input.
