I wouldn't buy anything other then rubber hose. The plastic hoses are not very flexible and hard to coil when you need to. I like the red rubber hose as it tends to not leave black marks when you drag it around. I actually bought red rubber hose from Northern and it has lasted several years.

I have Goodyear hoses and am quite happy with them. Don't get yellow if you can avoid it, though. That was all I could get at the time, and it shows dirt like crazy.

I was originally going to go with 1/2" but now I'm thinking that 3/8" would be easier to roll up and maneuver around. Maybe I should go with 1/4"???? I'm running diy'er type stuff, impact wrench, air ratchet, grinder, etc. Let me know as I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

You don't want any smaller than 3/8" to run an impact gun. I would only use 1/4" for something like air finish nailer, brad nailer or a stapler maybe a blow gun.
