This is a Douat compressor made in Brazil. They were bought out by Schulz, but I don't know if any parts are still available.

Can elaborate more about it's reliability and performance?

If the price is right is it worth picking up?

It's got a baldor motor and stater, and was supposedly serviced every year.

I saw the back plate off of one a few years ago and it looked pretty stout inside, with a proper set of rods and insert bearings. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if the price was right. Probably a damn site better quality than anything you are going to get new for the price. Who knows, Schulz might even still support these. If it did fail, you still have a top quality 1ph motor and tank to work with. If it runs ok and doesn't blow the interstage safety valve, I'd say it was a good bet. Performance should be on par with any 5hp compressor unit, since there are no real secrets to making air, just different designs based on cost.

Check to see if the interstage safety valve is the proper rating if possible. If it's 200psi, it's too high and can mask valve problems. See if you can drain some condensate out of the tank. If it looks like gravy, take a pass.

I have two of this version and one that uses a different casting for the block. Assured Air in Douglas Georgia was keeping heads and gaskets in stock but I think they went out of business in late 2024 early 2025. 912-384-9254

Here is the NAPA diagram and parts list I have.

Head gasket pair for the low compression side is VPHL-1271-WL, for models 2057 or 2010

Model numbers look like they were 82-1018, 2010, 2025, 2048, and 2057 which I have, it has two low pressure cylinders on it.

The only thing I have ever done to mine, which I inherited from my father was to change the oil and replace heads/valves. There was an early and late model version of the valves. Early versions would break, newer ones last much longer, the spring is the failure part. I have been running one of these that have been in on a service truck since 1994.

Here is the tag off of one of mine.
