Saw this on Ebay this morning but cant find any info on it.
Is it a compressor or vacuum pump. Sure looks like a good sized compressor to me. No bids has me wondering, though.
It's 300+ miles from me but that would be a $1500-2000 min. in this area just because it "looks" heavy duty or industrial. Folks around here are really proud of their compressors when it's time to sell. It might be worth the trip.

I couldn't find any quick specs on line. The companies full name was Leroi-Dresser.

I belive the 20 series are rather small compressors. It is definitaly a compressor and not a vacuum pump.

Can't find much up in Cleveland or Akron?

Nope, nothing much up this way at all on Westinghouse-Dresser. Vague returns on Leroi-Dresser and some reference to Ingersoll -Dresser but it was just vague parts listings. Lots of reference to W'house taking over a company called Dresser in the 90's but mostly corporate/legal drivel. Nothing "quickly" useful.
It looks like maybe a big, 2 cyl, single stage unit on closer inspecton. I'm not that familiar with compressors, though.

So would that be a 20 Series Westinghouse (WABCO?) compressor? I tried searching that but no useful results.

That is a single stage compressor. Common out here on the west coast. It is only good for about 90 PSI though. If you try to get 125 PSI out of it the compressor will be short lived.

Really? That's sad for such a robust looking unit with a big name attached to it. Probably why there's no bids.
Thanks for all the input fellas'. I certainly appreciate it.

Don't worry about it not being 2 stage. Single stage will be fine for the home shop. What you care about is CFM, which I think that comp may be a bit short on. IIRC those small pumps were designed to be used for a fire suppression system.

I think it is called a leroi compressor. Here is a link to the rebuild kit for it, a model 20; but that is all I can find on it, so far.

If you buy the compressor, buy this as well. Ha ha
