It's a Powerex air compressor :dunno:

I have heard about them. I think they primarily cater to the medical industry. They are still in business, why don't you just call them? IIRC I have head they are pretty good quality units. I think they use someone else's (possibly IR's) actual compressor pump.

If you want to find the CFM and all that jazz read through the topic in general garage discussion about "Way to calculate CFM of air compressor" or something to that effect.

It's actually made by Campbell Hausfeld. Have a 60 gallon vertical with what looks like the same pump. Can we get closeups of the labels?

Yea, from what I can remember they are a pretty respectable compressor. They make, or at least use to make a bunch of industrial horizontal tank compressors in different sizes. Since it is in your possession I would just try giving them a call and see where that gets you. If not then we can go from there.

Definitely respectable. Our has been in home body shop duty for 25+ years-whenever it was new. It will keep up with anything but a DA sander. Which it can run but the compressor is running of the sander is running.

It's a Powerex, which is a susidary company of Campbell-Hausfeld.

If it's 5HP they came in two flavors; single stage two cylinder V and two stage. The single stage V puts out approximately 16 CFM @ 90 PSI. Not sure of the two stage output. The one in the photo looks like it's a 60 gallon single V. Notice the pilot valve to the left of the 1/4" T fitting? The pump has valve unloaders, meaning that the pump will turn off and on while the motor runs continuously. The pump was made in Japan. It's aluminum with cast sleeves. These were medical grade pumps with extremely low oil pass through.

I have a vertical 60 gallon vertical, single stage V.

Yea, they're decent compressors.
