Compressor install help

I need some help installing my new craftsman industrial 60 compressor.

First off what add ons are necessary for a light use garage (water removal, etc.). I am a hobbyist, won't be painting or anything, just running impact wrenches and such. I plan to use a system like Rapid air to distribute air and have a reel or 2.

Second question. I have radiant in floor heat. How do I bolt down my compressor? Are there methods in which I do not have to drill into the cement?

You can get some rubber isolators which will not require you to mount the compressor to the floor. Check your manual, bolting it to the floor may not be a good idea.

Something like this. - BUT STRONGER!

I have my 7hp IR 80 gal vertical on these yellow round pads, but I can't remember where I got them from - they are for machine isolation.

Look into automatic tank drains and an air/water separator and regulator. Inline oilers work nice too, but you may want to put them at outlets so you don't have oil in all of your air - e.g. blowgun.

+2 on this especially on bolting to the floor. I have a monster of a compressor that is just fine on my $6 homemade isolation pads. I used one of those recycled rubber floor tiles you can buy for $6.00 at the Home Depot and cut it into squares. I just affixed them to square metal plates that I bolted to the feet of my compressor.

I would install the compressor on isolation pads, rather than take a

chance drilling the floor. I have never bolted any compressor to the

floor and never had any problems with creep. (no isolators)

Get a coalescing filter to mount first in line between the tank and

the rest of the system, then a regulator if the system shut off

pressure is above 120 psi. System pressure should be 90 to 110 psi

at the end of the hose when you have a tool operating, or a blow gun

passing air.

Have fun with your new air system.

You can locate your tubing using an infra red temp gun. I cut up an old truck mud-flap for isolators and lag bolted mine to the loft deck. It's been running up there for 20 yrs with no issues. Mike

Bought an IR filter/regulator and a rapid air system today. Also got a couple sheets of plywood and a rubber paver to make a isolation platform. I'll be out there tomorrow after presents, checked off the last family gathering today ;)
