Hi, I had an electrician come out to install an electric air compressor in my garage, my electrical box is in the basement, and the wire is to run to my garage during this installation the wire was cut too short, can this be a problem if he has to splice the wire to complete the installation or he has rewire so that it is one complete wired installation I would not want a short in the future to cause a fire can this be safely done the wire is for 30amp breaker/230 volts.

Re: compressor instalation

Who ran the wire and cut it too short ? Is the installation done ? Maybe what you believe to be "too short" is the electrician running the wire and his plan to put a disconnect box at the compressor ?
