Compressor issue has me scratching my head. Got it fixed. The timer was bad.

Hello,
I have an 11 year old Nordyne JS4BD-018KA condenser.
The scroll compressor runs backwards several times a day. Usually later in the day when it's hot but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it.
I know it's running backwards because it's noisy and the air coming out of the top is cool. If I don't catch it the compressor will go off line due to the winding temp.
If I reset the power using the disconnect it starts up fine after the DOB timer (set to 5 minutes) lets it.
I know it can happen with a sudden power interruption but that's not the case here. It's happening too much. I checked the cap and it was fine but I replaced it anyway.
The DOB timer (ICM203) seems to work OK unless it's faulty and interrupting the 24V out of it going to the contactor coil.
Thanks for any help and have a great weekend!

Scroll can run backwards with either power failure or loss of power for a second where the discharge gas turns the compressor in reverse and powers back up. Check the contactor might be sticking and the dob timer operation. If problem persist you can find a old digital alarm clock wire it in from power to ground set time if power blinks clock will start flashing. Probably find a old alarm clock at goodwill.
