What's causing my compressor to labor...diesels; rpms rise and fall during compression cycle; never throws the breaker and motor is not getting hot; oil is good. This unit doesn't get much use.

Is it electric, or gas??

Is it 110 volt, or 230 or 3 phase??

If its 110-check the capacitor.

If it runs and runs, yet never builds any pressure, check the valves....most likely they are gone.

Had the same issue on mine a year ago, changed the belt for a new one and all is well...I didn't believe it was the belt but that 's what the Service Tech told me and he was right.
