Maybe someone here might know, i run a small filter on my compessor. I used to have an oiler but that broke so i took it off. I noticed my filter is starting to get coverd in a milky oil. What is causing this? I am honestly lazy and only drain the tank every few months. I use the compressor maybe once a week and like it to have in it when i need it. I could care less if my abuse causes the compressor to have a short life, they are relativly cheap enough now. I just want to know about the milky oil.

That milky oil is from not draining your tank enough, its what happens when water and oil get whipped up, for lack of a better term.

Or just drain the tank more often, it'll clear up once you get the old oil out - if you want to bother with it.
