Compressor mounted FRL setups (Filter, Regulators Lubricators)

I am looking for a setup/combo that I can mount on my portable compressor that looks like this:



I am looking to mount on the compressor vs. wall mount so I don't have to run a bunch of lines. I have two RJ45's on my BendPak 4 post that I am looking to use and rather have a portable setup.

Does anybody make prefabbed brackets? I know it would be pretty easy to fab something up but just wondering what the collective brain trust of GJ has done in past with this type of setup? I was hoping to have a clean setup that mounts to existing bolts/mounts on the compressor.

Also any recommendations on the FRL? They seem to range from cheap - $50ish to a couple hundred...given my compressor setup what would you recommend?

Can't recommend anything till I know what tool/machine you have to drive. I worked industry with lots of pneumatic s and lubricators and I am adamantly against lubricators anywhere except at the inlet of the machine that requires it. Any lubricator installed up stream of a machine will have the lube coalescing on the walls of the piping and then pooling until a great volume of lube accumulates and moves as a mass to the outlet.

That said Watts, Parker, Neumatics are all good brands of pneumatic FRL's

All good points - I agree and for my hand tools, impact, die grinder, ratchets etc. I lube at the source but for this....

It recommends a good oiler in line. Not sure why. Never used one before so just want to be sure it is getting what it needs.

Maybe best to just go with a good filter/drier regulator combo?

If I were to do that install I would refer to figure 5.1 and put the oiler right at the input of the controller. I'm assuming that is an air/hydraulic pump with the air driving a small cylinder that drives the hyd pump. If you look at fig 5.2 they show a airhose between the pump and the FRL. That air line if located below the pump is going to fill with oil at some time then the trouble begins. Put the oiler at the pump and the other air air conditioning devises where convenient. They do not have to be together. You also have the option of adding a few drops of oil to the inlet of the pump on a regular basis just like you do for the tools you listed.

I'm kinda pleased with what I did to my portable compressor. I mounted a copper line from the regulator to a bulkhead fitting on the motormount. Now a jerked or pulled air hose won't put direct pressure on the regulator.

Don't put anything on the compressor other than what is there. Get a combo regulator/filter and lube and mount it on the lift. Put an air hose ****** on the inlet. Lots of them on Ebay. Get something with ¼ pipe fittings, doesn't need to be a big rig.
