Most compressors I've dealt with have either 1/4NPT or 3/8NPT drain plugs. A model number or picture of the pump would be helpful.

Can't you pull the plug and check? I mean, you're going to have to pull it to put a pipe on there anyway. If you pull it in the morning you can probably take the plug to the hardware store, pick up you're fittings, and install them all in one day.

It could be 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 or on large pumps 1/2" NPT.

the pump on my 22gal compressor has a 1/8npt drain and 3/8npt fill plugs.
I added a 3" ****** with a coupler and plug on the end so I can drain the oil into a container instead of letting it run down the side of the tank like it was originally set up.

Asked this ? few days ago and couple folks probally thought i,m a ***** for not pulling plug out myself and checking what i have.I,m on the darkside of 70 years young and in a wheelchair,so its not as easy as it sounds. In order to get part i gotta be able to tell someone what i need or even better yet an online place i can deal with myself. Not sure wheather to get just extention of what i have or ball valve like on bottom of tank.[think that would be easyer for me to operate]Mod.# on pump itselfsays [Speedaire mod.4B245,Smaller #,s under that say DK1318.Any info you guys can give me be big help, from looken at plug itself it appearers to be 3\8,s mabee. And one of you younger guys donate me bout 10 years and i,ll do this stuff myself. Thanks,Paul
