I use a synthetic in mine, but you can get regular or synthetic at Lowe's/Home Depot.

I have a 80 gallon Campbell Hausfeld, and it calls for either compressor oil or Mobil1. I use Mobil1.

If it's that bad, just get plain non-detergent oil at the auto-parts store and run it in that machine for a few weeks, then drain it out and use synthetic... I like the Amsoil too...

The owners manual from my CH 5 hp 60 gal upright calls for compressor oil and states not to use engine oil except synthetic Mobil 1 10w30.

When I bought by Husky compressor, I bought Husky non-detergent synthetic compressor oil as well. Any brand will do fine as long as its what the manufacturer recommends.

Just so people know, when you use regular detergent automotive oil in compressors (or nail guns) the same additives that make the oil a detergent oil will also dry it out, thus forming deposits on the valves, heads, etc.

Detergent oil has nothing to do with soap.
I have been running HARLEY DAVIDSON Gold Synthetic in my compressors for decades. Why? Because I had is in stock. No problems.
I always use ATF for air-tool lubricant. I have air tools three decades old still running with ATF.
