Most any Compressor Lubricating Oil sold will be fine!
I bought my last 2 quarts at Fleet/Farm because I was there.

Imo the synthetic is a good investment if you care about its longevity.

Some compressor mfg that I can think of upgrade the warranty if you use synth-oil over the dino equivalents, bought at the time of initial purchase. (IR, Quincy, IIRC).

I wouldn't hesitate to use All Season Select or Quin-Cip in any piston-based air compressor.

If your compressor is outside, or your garage isn't heated, a multi weight oil might be a good idea. I am thinking that since they have found that some huge % of auto engine wear occurs in the first few minutes after start, a compressor can't be much different. Also thinking that a home compressor runs infrequently, so a much higher percentage of it's total hours of run time is cold starts than one at an auto shop feeding a lot of techs.

Thank you all for the responses.
Run Mobile 1 in all my gas engines.
What weight would you guys recommend?
Compressor is in an unheated garage.
Temperature today is 11 degrees.
Tag on tank says made in 1947!
Air is always "made".
Have three 80 gallon tanks.

I use Amsoil synthetic compressor oil. In winter the compressor will run with this oil but was very sluggish to start when I used traditional oil. I am in the Chicago area so it gets cold in winter and my compressor is outside.
