Compressor Opinions

I've got it narrowed down to two choices that fit my budget of less than $1000. The IR TS4N5 80 gallon two stage at TSC for $950 or the 60 gallon two stage HF (unless someone has another idea). Please don't say used from CL or wherever. I have run quite a few miles on my vehicle driving around to look at what turned out to be real piles of junk.

I have been looking on CL within about a 300 mile radius for over a year and have turned up nothing worth buying. I really want a new compressor as my old 21 gallon direct drive HF just isn't cutting it anymore. It's noisy as hell and slow to build pressure. My wife told me to just go buy one so I want to get one before she changes her mind lol.

I know the HF 60 gallon has some decent reviews and some here think pretty highly of it. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

The IR has the bigger tank, but it also has more Chinese or Indian main components than the HF. That's mainly why I considered the HF because it has an Italian compressor and a US built tank.

I do paint and body work at home as well as woodworking and my compressor HAS to run sometimes all day and for several days in a row. I did not want to have to buy another one. Went with the largest single phase two stage compressor Saylor Beal makes. This was because of the cfm I needed. There are two ways to get there...a large pump and run it at a slower rpm or take a smaller pump and drive the heck out of it. Trust me, the higher, louder rpm s will get to ya the older ya get.....get as low rpm as you can afford.

BEWARE HF. They changed their 60 gallon dual stage to one that is a W cylinder pump in a single stage configuration. The extended two year warranty is $170. Which puts you at $970. I believe all the positive reviews are from the older compressors which were dual stage.
