So I forgot to take a few measurements last night before heading to work and I was hoping to run during lunch to the store. I am trying to do the following:

1.
Route compressor drain out to front with a ball valve. Tank is an IR 80 gallon vertical. What size elbow/******/ball valve will I need?

2.
Begin plumbing for outlet. I need to make a 90 right out of the tank and then a ball valve and then move on to the flex line. What size 90/ball valve/******?

Thanks,
ac

do you have the model number of that IR? if you do just type it in at irtools.com and you should be able to get an exploded drawing of the unit. there are a lot of models on an 80gal. usually the drain is a 2" port, with a hex bushing plug, find out what size that is, get a street ell and pipe ******* to a ball valve.

try to keep everything the same size 1/2", 3/4" etc... if you have a 5hp use at least 1/2" pipe and fittings, 7.5hp use at least 3/4" pipe and fittings. bigger is better.

AFAIK most all of those drain valves are standard 1/4" NPT -- although I've seen some Asian imports with metric drain valves.
