I have a pieced together compressor consisting of a Baldor L1410t 5 hp motor and the pump is a champion, this is the pump I have, got it for $75 off ebay. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/CHAMPION-Single-Stage-Compressor-Pump-3Z172
This is the motor http://www.google.com/products/cata...=X&ei=sy4eTsPzDsaksQL7xK2iCA&ved=0CEQQ8wIwAQ#

I need to put a new pressure switch and blowoff valve and want to get the right parts. I am not sure if the Baldor motor has a mag starter or not and don't know if it matters when it comes to the pressure switch.

And any recommendations on where to get a switch and the specs.

I am thinking of getting this one but want to know if it is up to the task. The Baldor motor is rated at 23 amps.

Looks like a good setup, it should last forever with proper care.

For the pressure switch, the one you are looking will not work -- you need a switch that will come on about 90 and shut off at 135. It's not a good idea to run a single-stage pump at more that 125-135psi. Try this one: https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?catname=&qty=1&item=4-1823-l1

For the pressure switch, look at your tank's nameplate rating and get one that is slightly less (i.e. 140 psi for a 150 psi rated tank).

You will need a magnetic starter -- that motor has no internal thermal overload protection, and you won't find a pressure switch that can handle more than 20 amps (reliably). Try to find one with an adjustable overload relay, or one that already has heaters rated at your motor's full-load amps. Surplus center has some at a great price: https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?catname=&qty=1&item=11-1713

That pressure switch is not likely to be rated for a 5 HP motor, a mag starter is needed.

Ok, I ordered those parts, so we will see how well they work when I get them within the week or so.

Thanks for the quick reply.
