Haven't went to check it out or anything yet. The guy that leases my garage said that it quit working. I trust him enough to check breakers and such and probably checked it out on his own so it's probably not something simple I guess. It is a 3 phase Champion compressor. Any ideas on what I need to check for first? Right now he is just using his own smaller compressor but he will be leaving in next couple months and I wanna make sure it is up and running before releasing. I know I will check connections and make sure it's getting power and such. Any other ideas will be appreciated.

Check motor starter, control transformer(if it has one), heaters(motor overloads), Phase to phase voltage, Disconnect motor from power and check motor phase to phase for open, ground or short. Check fuses on supply (line) power to see if you lost a phase causing "single phasing" which could damage motor.

All that hidollartoys said, and make sure to take apart and visually inspect the actual contacts in the motor starter. This is what I find bad the most on a compressor, since they start/stop so often. Contact kits should be available.

All this located in the electrical panel portion or will it be on the motor itself? Never messed with compressors but i'm fairly handy and can figure most things out on my own.
